In a very enjoyable way, athletes get a wider step, running longer distances with greater protection and greater caloric expenditure.

You may have heard of Kangoo jump, right? This footwear, developed with Swiss technology, and already being sold in Brazil, has become fashionable in the streets and squares of cities, and has ended up invading the gyms. This equipment is nothing more than a super boot with springs similar to bows instead of skates on the bottom, but created to run on any ground, such as sand, grass, asphalt, and with a damping system able to reduce up to 80% of the impact, which no ordinary sneaker can ever do.

These “magic boots”, weighing 1.7 kg, permit athletes to run more easily and for longer distances, which brings a high calorie burning and a more intense muscular work.

Therefore, the physical educator Weber Silva Magalhães warns that any person planning to begin the sports practice with kangoo jumps boots need to be careful not to exceed his or her limits. “Most beginners want quick results and often exaggerate when doing the activities. The body needs time to adapt to new practices and create an evolutionary pace to avoid muscle wear and extreme tiredness. Gradually, the practitioner will improve the fitness, the strength and the intensity,” he says.

When you put the boots on, the initial feeling is like: “I’m going to fall! Will I be able to keep my balance on that?”

But you can be sure that after a little jumping, this feeling will pass. The equipment gives you firmness because it locks your articulation and leaves your feet very stable, providing security to the ankles and preventing injuries.

Today we see, in some gyms, classes reproducing running and dance movements, using the boots Kangoo jumps.

This activity is similar to the power jump, but the impact on the heels is cushioned, which does not happen in the jump.

Therefore, the effort made during the practice is greater.

According to Weber, 45 minutes of this aerobic modality known as “hopping”, consumes around 800 calories or more, depending on the intensity of each person’s exercise.

“The major benefits are fat burning, increased motor coordination, improved posture correction, muscle strengthening and, because it activates the lymphatic system, it promotes a considerable improvement in cellulite,” he says.

The interesting thing is to challenge yourself by proposing new activities. Thus, the body enters a new state of motion in which different muscles are worked out with other stimuli. And when it comes to diversifying and exercising playfully, it is even a more motivating kind of training. Worth a try.

Mr. Magalhães adds that this form of sport can be practiced even by the children and the elderly, who do not have a medical restriction, taking the necessary precautions. Here are some tips for those who want to venture:

1 – Use two thick socks to protect your feet and to avoid hurting them.

2 – Stay tuned to how the boots fit, which must be done well (not so tight or so loose).

3 – If you train by yourself, call a professional to guide you for a while, so you can learn

how to do it safely.
