Have you ever dreamed of having huge eyelashes, valuing your eyes and your facial expression?

In the past, the idea of having eyelashes like the actresses of films and soap operas was not for everyone. However, what couldn’t be possible to do today with so much technology and developments in the field of cosmetics?

According to the ophthalmologist and partner our Blog, Dr. Pedro Toledo, there is an eye drop that is used in the treatment of glaucoma, called Lumigan. After using it, patients identified that one of the side effects was the growth and darkening of eyelashes. And it does not happen only with this eye drops, but with and all the prostaglandin analogues.

The eyelashes grow so much that Dr. Pedro Toledo has had a case in which a patient came to his office complaining of eye discomfort, and it was the new eyelash that was growing into the eye and scratching the cornea, and it had to be removed with tweezers.

After knowing about this potential, the cosmetics industry has decided to invest and launched Latisse, a product with the same active ingredient, but totally different.

The concentration of the active substance, the preservatives and the method of use are different, says Dr. Toledo.

The Latisse is a product that should be sold only by prescription and recommended by dermatologists.

According to Dr. Alexandre de Filippo, a partner of this Blog, if applied correctly and in the right dose, it rarely causes irritability.

It is a drop on a brush, to be applied on the skin above the lashes. Also, according to him, we must be aware of the “trends,” that cause people to use such products even without medical indication and monitoring, and it is during these times that problems arise.

Dr. Pedro Toledo also warns that “the use of Latisse in the wrong way can cause changes in the color of eyes and eyelids irreversibly. And remember that this product is not used to control glaucoma. “

The treatment and control of glaucoma are made with different types of substances and / or surgery and only the prostaglandin analogues presented side effect such as change in the color of eyelashes, eyelids and eye iris.

There are already reports of eyes that have totally changed color with the use of these medicines to increase eyelashes. A side effect that can catch many people by surprise.

What good can it do to have large and beautiful eyelashes if you lose the original eye color? We do not know for sure whether the effects are reversible or not. What we know is that the price of beauty can be more expensive than you may imagine.

I think we should take the best advantage of the medical developments, but in my opinion we must obey certain limits. We should find out more about it, get all the possible information and, above all, to love ourselves.

If you have question, girls, see a dermatologist or an ophthalmologist. They will find the best way to solve your problem and you’ll feel beautiful, accomplished and healthy!

My hint: the use of such products must be made only by prescription!

If you have any questions, the physicians, partners of our Blog, are available.

A big kiss! And count on me!
