After using it,\u00a0patients identified that one of the side effects was the growth and darkening of\u00a0eyelashes. And it does not happen only with this eye drops, but with and all the\u00a0prostaglandin analogues.<\/p>\n

The eyelashes grow so much that Dr. Pedro Toledo has had a case in which a patient\u00a0came to his office complaining of eye discomfort, and it was the new eyelash that was\u00a0growing into the eye and scratching the cornea, and it had to be removed with tweezers.<\/p>\n

After knowing about this potential, the cosmetics industry has decided to invest and\u00a0launched Latisse<\/strong><\/em>, a product with the same active ingredient, but totally different.<\/p>\n

The concentration of the active substance, the preservatives and the method of use are\u00a0different, says Dr. Toledo.<\/p>\n

The Latisse<\/strong><\/em> is a product that should be sold only by prescription and recommended by\u00a0dermatologists.<\/p>\n

According to Dr. Alexandre de Filippo, a partner of this Blog,<\/a> if applied correctly and in\u00a0the right dose, it rarely causes irritability.<\/p>\n

It is a drop on a brush, to be applied on the skin above the lashes. Also, according to\u00a0him, we must be aware of the \u201ctrends,\u201d that cause people to use such products even\u00a0without medical indication and monitoring, and it is during these times that problems\u00a0arise.<\/p>\n

Dr. Pedro Toledo also warns that “the use of Latisse<\/em><\/strong> in the wrong way can cause\u00a0changes in the color of eyes and eyelids irreversibly. And remember that this product is\u00a0not used to control glaucoma. “<\/p>\n

The treatment and control of glaucoma are made with different types of substances and \/\u00a0or surgery and only the prostaglandin analogues presented side effect such as change in\u00a0the color of eyelashes, eyelids and eye iris.<\/p>\n

There are already reports of eyes that have totally changed color with the use of these\u00a0medicines to increase eyelashes. A side effect that can catch many people by surprise.<\/p>\n

What good can it do to have large and beautiful eyelashes if you lose the original eye\u00a0color? We do not know for sure whether the effects are reversible or not. What we\u00a0know is that the price of beauty can be more expensive than you may imagine.<\/p>\n

I think we should take the best advantage of the medical developments, but in my\u00a0opinion we must obey certain limits. We should find out more about it, get all the\u00a0possible information and, above all, to love ourselves.<\/p>\n
